Everyone Needs Someone

While at study last night a dear friend Mary told us about this book of poems by Helen Steiner Rice available at publix for the whopping price of a $1.99. I am very excited to purchase it when I can. She was telling us that these poems are beautifully written by Helen who is/was a Christian (not sure if she is still alive or not) and that they really give you prespective on things in life. So I thought what the heck I will look her up on the web and see if I can find any of her poems and the first one that pop's up was this:

Everyone Needs Someone

People need people and friends need friends
And we all need love for a full life depends
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldy fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-
For only the knowledge that we're understood
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,
And we rob ourselves of life's greatest need
When we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed
The outstretched hand reaching to find
A kindred spirit whose heart and mind
Are lonely and longing to somehow share
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware
That life's completeness and richness depends
On the things we share with our loved ones
and friends.

This one was so great for me! It really spoke to me and was like "Jhenna, Hello! You have an awesome support group of Family and Friends let them help you let them be there for you." Of course God has been working in my life in this area. He is always letting me know that I need to depend on him and others because "Everyone needs Someone." I don't know where I would be today without my support group! I praise God for everything he has done for me and all the wonderful people he has brought into my life! I praise him for giving me Jon a man to whom is a great leader of our family! Someone I feel so unworthy of having in my life, but he is mine and I am his!

I hope you all enjoy this poem as much as I have!
