Weekend Happenings

So this weekend is going to be really fun and not too busy! Just the way I like it! Tonight will be a tad bit busy though. I am having a Thirty-One Party at my house tomorrow at 11am. So that means I need to straighten up a tad bit and finish some projects before tomorrows festivities! One of the projects being the fact that we removed the towel rack and toilet paper holder and painted them, they were old ugly wood grain with Gold trim. So I gave them each two coats of a flat white paint and then I have to hand paint in the trim and change it to silver! I am really excited for the changes that will be happening soon in that bathroom. We already have paint for the walls, fabric for the shower curtain, and the rug half made! I have a feeling it is going to turn out fantastic and be very boy friendly and not so feminine! Jon doesn't much care for the butterfly shower curtain we have hanging up :)

Then after the party the hubs and I are going to take the kids out to the park! I think that will be super fun! I have been wanting to take Austin to the roller rink so I am hoping we can get a sitter so that the 3 of us can go have an evening of fun with Austin! I think it is very important for us to do things as a family and then each have one on one time with the boys! One of my favorite one on one times with Austin is when he helps me fold laundry and we just talk about his day, or what he is interested in, (right now he loves science and rocks) or my favorite, what he would like for his Birthday (even if Christmas is a month away he still will tell you what he wants for his Birthday!) and when is his Birthday going to get here :)

Then Sunday we are working in the nursery at Church so we will be there for half a day then head home and have a lazy Sunday! Maybe watch some movies, have snuggle time, tickle wars, and maybe Austin and I can even fit in a game (or 10 :) of connect 4! Austin and I love that game!

What are you doing this weekend? I hope you have a great one!

Making time for the ones you love...

Austin had his second baseball game on Thursday! His team did very well! We were so proud of them! Austin was able to pitch for the first time ever and I almost started to cry! My baby is an excellent pitcher! 5 kids went up to bat the first two he knocked them out, the second two each got as far as 2nd base, and the last one he knocked out! I didn't know whether to take pictures or to watch! It was so hard to do both! But I managed between the tears and excitement! I feel like he has found his thing! As long as he can stay in the "action zone" then he stays happy! So enough with my babbling, here are some pictures of the game and who we spent it with!

Sorry for such a long post! I hope you all have a Blessed weekend!

The fabulous 4

So the "fabulous 4" as I like to call it was my fabulous 4 day weekend I just had! There is nothing better then taking some days off and spending time with your family! I love long weekends!

So my long weekend started Friday. My hubby and I decided to go thrifting in search of some picture frames. So off we set and we found two good sized ones! Now why would we be looking for picture frames you ask??? Well we wanted to make a chalkboard for our kitchen and a dry erase board for the back of out front door. See I love chalkboards! I am excited to have a chalkboard in our kitchen somewhere, where I can write the daily menu or even better wake up each morning and write Bible passages on it for my hubby to read when he wakes up. Words of encouragement for everyone. Food for thought! I want one because I know it will be a staple point in our kitchen and something the whole family can have fun with! The reason why I want a dry erase board down on my front door is because when the hubby and I leave for outings with the kids we always forget something (or 5 things) and end up making multiple trips up and down the stairs retrieving what it is that we had forgotten! Yes great work out but very frustrating at times especially when you are running late! So the dry erase board will be used for making a check list each night of all the things we could possibly need for our outing the next day. I will give you the break down of how we made these in another post.
Also while we were out thrifting we found some great sized hurricane vases and decided to scoop them up. They were .99 cents a piece! SCORE!!! So there was no way I was leaving them behind! Also we found a good sized Tupperware container to house our ten pound bag of flour (we make a lot of our own breads and cakes) And I found a cake container! I almost died! They only wanted 4 bucks for it! I was in thrifting heaven on Friday! Ethan my 19 month old was such a trooper as I dragged him around to 3 different thrift stores!

Saturday was a wonderful day with my boys! Austin had just completed his first full week of school. So we decided we would go swimming at my hubby's parents house. They were out of town so we were able to use their pool. (We can really use their pool whenever they don't have to be out of town for us to do so.) So we all had a relaxing morning and then put Ethan down for a nap. I did some laundry and then hubby and I started painting our frames for everything I explained above. We made one for my little sister who is 15 and in her second year of high school. We thought it would be nice for her room :) Then later that day we headed to the pool and picked up my little sister along the way. We all had a blast and spent 2 hours in the pool. It went by so quickly! We dropped my sister off and decided to go and see my mother in law but she wasn't home so we just called it a day and headed home.

Sunday was another wonderful day with the boys! We had some complications at first but we didn't let them get us down! We were leaving our house at 10am to head to Church in Naples and as we were backing out of the driveway our car died. Not a very good thing seeing as how we only have one car! So by the grace of God our car started back up and we headed off in search of a battery hoping that since we were a tad bit early leaving that morning that we would still be able to make it to church maybe just a tad bit late. But the first place we went in search of a battery we struck out! Then the hubby decided to take the kids and I home because our 19 month old totally despises his car seat! You would think it was possessed by demons or something with the way he acts when he is in it! So I put Ethan down for a nap well aware that we would not be making it to church that morning. The hubs went to Auto Advantage and got our new battery there of course it wasn't a cheap date! Nothing is when you have a foreign car! I believe my hubby is still kicking himself in the butt for getting that car. But we are grateful for the car even though it is expensive! So then after Ethan's nap we headed out and picked up my little sister again and grabbed a bite to eat on the way to my in laws house to go swimming again! So we spent another 2 hours in the pool and had a blast! Well except for the part where my sister nailed me with a ball in my eye! But all is well and I have no black eye to report of! Praise the Lord! So after swimming we planned on going to my Mother in Laws again to see her and have dinner with her so we went over and spent some time with her and then headed out to dinner at the good ol' Cracker Barrel! It was a good time we even ran into her friend Joyce who happened to be having dinner by herself! We invited her to join us for dinner and we all ate and laughed and had a wonderful time!

Monday I decided was my day to do nothing and when I say nothing I really mean it! I think the only thing I did all day was make dinner and that required me putting a pork tenderloin in the crock pot that was the extent of it! I watched TV and just had a wonderful time relaxing with my hubby.

My 4 day weekend was Blessed! I had the best time with the most amazing people! And the best thing is that this weekend is a 3 day weekend! I couldn't have planned a better time to have a long weekend!
How was your weekend?

Lakes Park, weekend fun and more.....

Well this weekend we had so much fun! On Saturday my mom and little sister came over which sometimes can be bad because my mom and sister fight and well it just gets ugly but Saturday it was nice, We decided to take Austin to the park and the first park we went to Austin took one look at it and said is this a joke I couldn't help but laugh. The park was very small and there really wasn't much to do. So then I thought well there is another park closer to our house so we headed to that one and it was closed they were doing construction and Austin got so upset because this park looked really really fun. So then Jon and I thought about lakes park it has this really big play ground area for the kids it has paddle boats and bike rentals, and a nature walk, tons of lakes hence the name, it has a little train you can ride on which well isn't really a train and well I wouldn't ride on it. But Austin saw this play ground and fell in love! All you have to do is pay for parking and then spend as much time as you like just hanging around! So Austin went to town and tried everything out! We got a ton of pictures but still no way to load them onto facebook or myspace until we get net. But that will be soon hopefully! So Jon and my sister chased Austin around and my mother and I took a walk which was very nice and talked a little bit something we don't usually get to do that much of. Then we headed back and my sister saw the bike rentals and asked my mom about it we found out it cost 25 dollars to rent a six seater bike, well it is really a eight seater because in front of the bike there is two seats for younger children. So Austin sat in the front and Jon and my sister sat side by side behind him and then my mother and I side by side behind them. And well all of us had to pedal except for Austin he got lucky! hehe... But no it was great! We all got some exercise and fresh air! I recommend this park to anyone it is so great! Jon and I loved it so much that we are going back this weekend on Sunday and having a picnic just the two of us and renting one of the paddle boats and just spending the day together loving each other! I mean it will be such a nice day because it is suppose to be a high of 79 so were really excited about that!

Sunday Jon, Austin, and I did yard work. My mom and sister decided they wanted to come up and help which was nice it went a lot faster! We got the whole yard done in about two and 1/2 hours on top of that I also cleaned the room under our house and got that all tidy and cleaned the car out of all the junk that was in there now all I need to do is take it somewhere and vacuum it out and wipe it down and give it a bath so I guess there is still a lot to do hehe... And then after all the yard work we hung out in the house and my mom decided that dinner at our house would be nice so we went to the store and picked up a bunch of stuff for dinner and then we made dinner and hung out some more and then after dinner and desert they went home... So all in all it was a nice weekend!

Nothing too much else exciting has happened this week. Austin has been doing really good in school and really making an effort to try harder and get things done! So were really proud of him! We are proud of him either way though! Oh I got a call from my ex yesterday and I saw how God has been working in my life! He called and got rude with me angry a bit and probably yelled a few times and I didn't get upset I didn't care how he treated me it felt so great to not care any longer! After he hung up on me I prayed for him that God would continue to help him and I prayed that he would seek God! I worry that if he continues down this path that his heart will harden and that would be terrible! So I am just so blessed! God has been helping make it easier for me to pray for him and his family! I have realized that I have to put my own feelings aside and do what God asks of me. I just really love how God works in my life and my families life!

Mom and Sister.....

Well lets see today is Wednesday! I am so happy we are half way through the week, and almost to the weekend. But then again Jon, Austin and I probably wont have anytime alone! My mom and sister have been coming up to our house every other weekend. On the weekends that we have Austin and well it is starting to take a toll on us. My mother has been having problems with her boyfriend or lets say for lack of better words some moron she occupies a space with. Well she and him are on the break and well they own a house together! So she has all this weighing on her and well she likes to escape for the weekend to our place. And well that fine and everything but she and my sister stay all weekend long! It's not my mom that bothers me it is my sister. I hate to say it but this girl has no respect for my mother or anyone else for that matter. She lacks manners completely. She calls my mother every name under the sun and well my mom doesn't really do much about it. She lets my little sister treat her like crap. Of course it doesn't help that my mother buys my sister everything she asks for spoils her rotten never sticks to her discipline or anything. I think I am just frankly annoyed. I have no idea what to tell my mother when she wants to come over for a weekend. I don't want to tell her no sorry we have plans when we don't I wont lie. But Also I don't want them holed up in our two bed all weekend either! Like I said my mom I can deal with my sister not so much!

But on a different note this week has still been a good one! I have enjoyed my days and my evenings with my family, no one has been rude to me at work and well for once my ex hasn't called me up and had something outlandish to say! And well I have God, So that right there is the best feeling in the world!

I know this may be random but it is getting towards lunch time and I am getting hungry... Jon and I baked a yummy pizza last night! It was so good we bought the dough and we bought the pizza sauce and put shredded cheese on top and made a yummy pizza! It was so good and filling! We like it so much that we decided that we are going to have Austin make his own Friday night! It was quick and easy and well a lot of fun! Austin could have so much fun making his own pizza creation!

Well enough with my ranting and randomness...

Lets kick this blog thing off!

Ok here goes my first blog. Today is an ok day for the most part. My husband and I are expecting. So some days are good and some not so much! I really dislike the moodiness that has all of the sudden come on. I seem extremely cranky and on edge, and well anyone who knows me knows that I am not cranky or an on edge type of person. For the most part I am happy and fun loving. My attitude started to worsen when I started taking my prenatal vitamins. My husband was noticing that things were becomming worse so I had to stop taking them. They were starting to scare me. It was like I turned into a completely different person!

I am married to the most incredible man in the whole entire world! He spoils me all the time and is always thinking of me and Austin! He constantly surprises me. And I always love how I find little notes all around the house that say SHMILY! Shmily means (See how much i love you) We read a devotional about a couple in our book Night Light who always made a point to let each other know how much they loved one another! From the day they were married until death parted them! Jon and I believe that, that is an extremely romantic story of these two people and now we strive to always tell each other how much we love one another! We are Christians who love the Lord with all our hearts! We always always keep him at the center of our relationship and in everything we do we try our hardest to bring Glory to his name!
